Used correctly Softchip is very quick and easy to work with Used correctly Softchip is very quick and easy to work with

Caring for a Softchip bed is very simple.

The surface of the bed will remain firm and dry, so daily droppings can be easily lifted off, either with a shavings fork or by hand using gloves.

Toss bedding around the edges of the stable and remove any wet patches. Sweep the stable floor and then bed back down and level with a shavings fork. New bedding should be added as required.

Removing wet patches can be done either daily or weekly. To remove a wet patch, move the top layers of Softchip aside and using a small shovel, remove the wet bedding from the base of the bed, then spread the dryer Softchip over the stable floor and level to the existing bed.

The bed should be topped up as necessary to maintain the depth of the bed to at least six inches.

To maintain a deep litter bedding we recommend that you remove droppings daily with a shavings fork or by hand using gloves. Take care to disturb as little Softchip as possible.

Softchip is a completely natural wood fibre that is therefore friendly to the environment making excellent compost after use.
